3 Months!

Today Charlotte is a quarter of a year old! I can't even believe that three months have passed since our little miss was born. I know I will say that every month. This month has brought on so many changes. Charlotte smiles ALL the time. She is so happy all day and is cooing and squealing so much. Now when I smile at her she gives me the biggest, gummiest grin back. It melts my heart. When Dan and I go to wake her up in the morning she opens her eyes and gives us a huge smile. It is a great way to start the day.

She is sleeping almost 12 hours every night and has been for about a month now. We put her to bed around 8 pm and wake her up about 7:30 am. Eventually I want to get her up at 7 so we can be out the door by 8. We will see how that goes. She gets fussy at 7:15 every night because she is tired. I think she enjoys sleeping just as much as her mom does! What I would give to sleep 12 hours every night!

Charlotte's little personality is coming through every day. She still loves music and will kick her legs and wave her arms when music is playing. Her legs are so strong when she is laying in my lap I have to hold onto her because she could kick so hard she could fall off. We are still mastering the Bumbo but I think she is almost strong enough to sit in it. She can hold her head up pretty good and is almost ready to be held on my hip.

When I go to take pictures of Charlotte she is normally all smiles until the camera comes out. I guess she is a little camera shy. Here was our first pic.
Then I got this.
And this. Then when I put the camera away all smiles again.

This next month is going to fly with preparing to move and actually moving. Having Charlotte makes us slow down big time and relax at night with her until her bed time. Then it's packing and preparing for the next day. I have learned to appreciate the weekends so much more now. We get two full days with her and we try to soak in all of our Charlotte time on the weekends. The weather is beautiful and we are trying to be outside a lot before the hot summer comes.

Happy 3 months to my smiley 3 month old! Hopefully I can catch some more smiles on camera soon!

What's going on with us lately

It's hard to believe that next weekend Charlotte will be three months old. The past three months have been a whirlwind. We had a baby, bought a new house and sold our house twice. The first buyers fell through and we had to put it on the market again and sold it again in one day...crazy. Now we are getting ready to move at the end of the month. We have cleaned out closets and cabinets and made several trips to Goodwill.

It's amazing how much stuff you accumulate over the years! Dan and I are pretty good about getting rid of our stuff pretty often too. I emphasize stuff when really it should just say crap we have wasted our money on. Since cleaning out our things I have found I have way too many serving pieces. Who really needs 5 cake stands?? Apparently I thought I did at one time. I don't even make cakes very often. I also had about 20 vases. I never buy vases so I don't know where all of them came from. And all the clothes...oh my. I put away all of my pre pregnancy clothes when I got pregnant and after having Charlotte I pulled them out again and even though they fit I don't like most of them anymore. Luckily, I don't need much for work because I work a lot from home and no one sees me if I wear the same thing to different appointments. Now the world (or all 5 of you that read this) know my secret.

Work has been crazy busy for Dan and I so we are both going non stop. When 5:00 hits we play with Charlotte, take her on walks, feed Charlotte, cook dinner, bathe Charlotte, feed Charlotte again, put her to bed, then we take showers and go to bed. We are trying to fit packing in there somewhere! For some reason I don't feel exhausted. It's just our new way of life and I'm loving it. That's what's going on with us right now!

You know you are from Texas when....

Your baby has a Blue Bell shirt.

Charlotte's Baptism

Last weekend we Baptized Charlotte at our church. It was such a special day and we are so thankful to all of our close friends and family that came. She was a perfect angel throughout the service and even squealed when the minister Baptized her. It was so cute. Afterwards we did a lunch at a restaurant nearby. It was a perfect Sunday!
